Peppermint Tea Through Time

Hospitali-Tea

In Greek mythology, Zeus and Hermes were walking through a village in disguise and no one was offering them any food or drink. An old couple finally invited them in and cleaned their table with mint leaves. Thus mint became a symbol of hospitality.

Ancient Peppermint

Peppermint is actually a hybrid of two different plants; water mint and spearmint. The first people to use peppermint were the Ancient Egyptians, as there have been findings of dried peppermint leaves in the pyramids that date back to 1,000 BC.
